I kept getting a CRC error when unpacking .rar files with WinAce - and was getting so upset that I actually signed up to use the forums and ask for help - but a couple of minutes before I did that, I figured I would go to the extent of finding a program which would just unrar the rarfile itself instead of WinAce and used WinRar ... anywho - to make a long story short, it worked. then I came on the forums to post that if one kept getting problems with unpacking .rar files with WinAce - to just go get WinRar for the .rar files. WinAce generally tends to work with everything else.

the thing is - another forum poster VLuka has already done that, in fact - just a bit ago. So thanks to that person and thanks to everyone behind GCW for their help with my gaming needs. I maintain a certain level of respect by not going for hacked games I do not own or serials I didnt buy - and GCW helps me out beyond any imaginable belief.

what? latest WinACE 2.11 open any WinRAR archive and latest WinRAR 3.0 opens any WinACE archive!
What do you mean? CRC errors usually happen when you stop/resume downloads.

Winace 2.11 will open Winrar 3.0 files.... BUT... it won't extract them.

This is not always the case as shown by the poeple above - you need to have the correct version to open it.

If a WinRar file is created with v3.0 it will NOT be possible to correctly extract the contents with any WinRar version prior to 3.0 nor by any WinAce version, including WinAce v2.11, unless, you install the new unrar.dll file (look for it at the WinAce site) which will allow WinAce to do WinRar 3.0 files.
