When I got my first burner (cd) it was a ricoh, (came with nero) and used it hard, upgraded to Ricoh Mp9120, (upgraded nero) used for bout 2yrs.

Ordered A04, in meantime upgraded nero, now upgrade software says wether u r entitled to upgrade to lastest or demo of latest, mine said entitled to upgrade, good, I thought.

new drive arrives A04, tried nero, all sorts of bother, kept calling on media for my ricoh.

decided to remove power from Ricoh, leaving only pioneer drive in system......................wait for this........................................

says no Ricoh drives present, upgrade only valid for ricoh drives contact nero! BA~*$%RDS.

trying with primo at mo.

thought may be of interest or relevant to others possibly experiencing probs similair

I had exactly the same problem, as my cd burner was ricoh and nero came as part of the package. I purchased a pioneer 104 assuming i could still use the nero version I had. This clearly wasn't going to happen.

I downloaded a newer version of nero, which was a demo version. I have heard that "apparently" you can donload key generators to unlock the demo and to use it as the full version therefore allowing your new burner and your old one to work together without a problem for unlimited time.

Of course I would never do this as it is probably illegal, not to mention highly unethical!:p

seems you are identical to me in setup.

I ended up just buying the proper code, I did it with clonecd yonks ago and have had free updates and all tech questions answered as part of service for registering.

Also I figure that if these guys are writing good stuff, why not pay them, keep them in a job, so they write more, and even better software. was only $49 usd, and now works a treat, worth getting.
