some is telling me that you need a dvd burner to burn ps2 games is this true if it is how much can i get one for?

yes,

dvd-burner for dvd-based games,
cd burner for cd-based games

i just did its like 379$.

tell me is it all worth it to buy a new cd burner and a messiah mod chip that cost 89$ then you have to get dvd-r cds that cost around 30$. is it all worth it?

Yes - many of us have done just that and have never looked back. I've had ny A03 since November and the Messiah since January. Brilliant.

My advice is, of course, at your risk.

If you look on E-bay you can find the Pioneer A03 or the A04 for around $300.00. Also you can buy 100 Princo DVD-R's for $138.00. So to answer "Is it worth it?" YES, it is........:cool:

Check on e-bay... You can buy NEW ones for about 300.00. New in RETAIL box.......

Finally the prices are coming down....YEAH:p
