I recently installed my ps2 no solder v4-5 modchip. It works fine, and I was able to use some known working backups, and I backed up a CD game (Street fighter EX3) without patching and it worked. I was told it is possible to back up dvd games and put them onto a CD if the game is small enough. I tried a direct copy and it did not work. There are plenty of wierd tutorials that all say something different, and none specify if the games are cd or dvd.
help appreciated, thanks

You can RIP DVD's to a CDR BUT its time consuming and you will loose some of the features in the game (movies, etc.) because you have to cut out stuff to make it fit on a CDR... Basically its a pain in the A^s..... Also your no solder mod will not play rips that are over ???? 640 mb ???? (I think this is the max)....
As far as knowing if a game is CD or DVD??? Look on the back of the ORIGINAL game case (usually near bottom) It will say Compact Disc (i.e CD) or DVD-ROM (i.e. DVD)... Hope this helps....
