Plex 24x questions

I have a plex 24x and the firmware is 1.2 i have no trouble copying but it doesnt always want to play the game in the writer (it is ok in other cd roms) should i upgrade the firmware or am i making amistake somewhere? i am using nero which i find is ok
anyone have a guide for backing using clone (if thats better)

if you use clonecd get clonyXXl and that prog will tell you what settings and stuff to use in CLonecd
