Help with Plextor 2410TA

Just bought this writer. I know the 2410A's will write Safedisc2 copy protection , will this one? And what's the difference between the A and TA versions?

I just bought it too. Can anyone tell me if I did the right thing by downloading firmware 1.03 and installing it?

Also...if I open CloneCD with 'Clony' does that guarantee me getting the perfect backup of any CD I have in the drive at the time (there's no help files with the English version so I'm having trouble understanding how Clony works)
