First off hi to everyone. I am really new at this stuff so I'm trying to learn. This I figured was the best way to do it.

Enough said and done. I just received the mod chip for my son's ps2 and was going to put it in for him. The instructions they sent were not as clear as their online ones and I pulled the top of the ps2 off and the reset button's silver cable came off from one of the inside components of the system. I am computer literate(just to let you know) so now my question is where does the end of the cable farthest away from the buttons connect to and how do I put it back on?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

I do believe you are talkin about one of the wires that you actually have to unplug and plug into a no solder chip, you just have ta work down far enough and you'll see where you can put it back in, no worries, its fixable(unless the wire has been fucked up bad)

no he's not
and if you had ever opened a PS2
you would have known that!

when installing no-solder
undo 8 screws under plugs on bottem of ps2
put ps2 down on base, with u looking at front
carefully lift top up and over to right, so its upside down to right
do NOT pull ribbon cable connected to on/off button
unscrew 2 screws from memory/joypad board
put top back on, and turn PS2 upside down
put hand inside expansion port and press down
use other hand to pull plastic base off.
follow no-mod chip instructions.

use this method and u don't have to worry too
much about the on/off ribbon cable.

sorry i can't help you with where the other end of that ribbon goes, as i've never been silly enough to pull bits off
without being careful!

I have opened my ps2 I just put in my no solder chip myself(ooooo big accomplishment) a few days ago, and he is talkin bout one of the three wires that stick out, you unplug the left and middle one and plug it into the no solder,

I figured out how to get the ribbon back on and now that's done. Okay, now I'm looking at the board and I have the diagram for where to solder the wires, but where does the modchip actually go? It might seem like a stupid question to some, but to others it's not. So if anyone would like to respond w/out calling me names please do. My son is driving me crazy about when I'll be finished.

Thanks,

What is the name of your mod?

Is it the SBOX?

If so it plugs in on the front of your PS2 below the first controller
