I'm not sure what to do. Everytime I try to record a regular game cd from my new Liteon DVD-Rom to my Philips cdrw (400 series), my system locks up. I run a 1 gig athlon processor, and was told that I needed to intall the 4 to 1 files from via, so I did that too. I am using the CeQuadrat software that came with the drive. Please let me know what I can do to make this work. . . Thanks!!
Pureley for copying cd's, you can't go wrong with CloneCD - as long as it's compatible with your hardware.
Install clonecd, and build an image file first of the disk you're trying to copy. Disc-to-disc copying raises the chances of getting errors, wheras building an image file first will practically guarantee that you can burn this image with no problems.
Also, how's your system setup? It's best to connect your DVD-ROM and writer on a seperate IDE channel (slave channel), but some manufactuers connect cd-roms and hard drives on one channel to cut down on bying cables.
Let us know how you get on! All the best :-)

Thanks, I will try it. My system is set up as raid, so the dvd and burner are set up together (dvd=master, burner=slave) on the same ide channel. Will let you know if it works.
