no solder RUNS DVD as well! legit or no?

okay i was getting about ready to not even use a mod chip cause i dont wanna risk installing one with soldering and the no solder one didnt run dvd backups or so i was told. here at this url i will give it says or implies that their no solder mods work with dvd r and cd rom backups! but i am leary about a few things. first of all in the other descriptions like for messia and what not it says PLAYs dvd r and cd rom but in the no solder mod descriptions it used tricky words like works perfectly with dvdr and cd rom or for dvd r. could this be trick wording or what? also in the messia description it says this will in now way affect dvd play back of movies but in discription of the no solder mods it dont say anything like that...... so here is the url you guys look and please let me know. i need to know like will it screw up my dvd movie play back and does it sound legit...... thanx guys PLEASE LET ME KNOW

hehe so are you saying it is bogus? they make it sound like it is some new chip just released. i wrote an email to tech support and asked the same questions i posted. but your thoughts would be great guys :) and again if anyone is in sanfransico bay area and can install a good mod i would buy a good one :) anbd drop you some cash to help me install

US v5 Ps2 with no-solder mod from lik-sang.com
and the answer is yes, it does play DVD-R backups, but...
I tried 2 different blank DVD-R's TDK and Verbatim, and the TDK didn't work...the Verbatim did.

Also, it didnt affect the DVD/DVD-R playback at all.
