modem speed question

can any one help i heard the modem can be speeded upto 56k from 33k by software settings can you tell me how or am i just hearing things

1. Go online and press the L trigger on your controller.
2. Select options from the menu and choose modem from the selection.
3. Select AT set up from the next screen.
4. Select the AT Command and choose yes from the next option.
5. Enter the code ATS28=56 as the AT Command.
6. Exit to the save menu and store your settings on the VMU.
