Mitsumi 2801 TE

I read somewhere that the firmware for the 2802 model is compatible for the 2801 to gove DAO and re-writable facilities, but mitsumi wont allow a firmware update for the 2801. Is there a cracked firmware update available that updates the 2801 to these new facilities

I would doubt that a firmware upgrade of any kind could overcome the mechanical and electronic differences of these two drives.
