oh no boys....
the clone cd site has just changed its mind on the acer writers! now it no longer writes raw dao 96 instead raw dao 94 - the writer generates its own 2 bytes on the subchannel - ahhhhhhhhhh.
Now, since safedisc v1&2 does not use subchannel routines?? will it still backup the latest games
Also does anyone know how securom v2 will affected as this is a subchannel protection scheme (note using a toshiba dvd to read subchannels data).

I have just ordered this Acer drive with a Toshiba DVD to act as a reader.
Its costing me £140 for both - or shall I buy the latest plextor offering for £185 ??? but then i dont have a dvd drive which i dont really need as i have a multiregion player.

i have the acer and a tosh xm6702 and had no probs with backing up sd2 maybe new firmware that causes the problem ? i have upgraded to 9gb but there is 9jb out but don't know what is new

is olly here maybe he can give some answers?

does the Acer 1208A do perfect SD2 copies. perfect in that it will work in any drive?

yeah sure does, I read somewhere it does securom too but you need to use another cd rom drive that reads subchannel data. It only has problems with Libcrypt which are playstation games.
