Need a little more info ( newbie )

Can somebody school me in the whats and why for's in :

DVD's
DivX
Rippers
Mpeg Decoder


Basically, I would like to make my own music CD's, both in normal format and in MP3, but I'm not really sure just what the h*ll I'm doing.. It just sucks to waste a bucket load of time in trying to figure it all out.. time which I just don't have a plenty at the moment.

I just decked out my place with some up-to-date electronics and all, and I just want to make sure I got my sh*t straight. I have a DVD player that can play mp3's as well. Now I want to make up some good MP3 CD's to play on it and my car stereo. Plus it would be nice to be able to play it in my gym whilst I work out.

To make an mp3 cd (note that ur hardware u use to play it will have to be capable of reading mp3's. So your car stereo etc needs to have this ability) just start up Nero (I recommend getting this software) and create a data cd, and then burn it.

If you car stereo etc isn't capable, then create an audio CD. (can only hold approx 20 songs, whereas the mp3 cd can hold hundreds.)
