View Full Version : Fixed Executable vs. NO-CD Executable
What is the difference between these two different game.exe tweaks?
Thanks for any replies!

First of all, both enable you to play the game without the original cd.
A Fixed Exe usually requires a (simple,e.g. hd copy and burn) backup to play the game.
A no-cd... guess what. Sometimes it requires additional copying of stuff from cd to hd to work properly.
Hope this helps?
Thanks Monty. Specifically, I'm referring to the fixed executable for the SIMS Vacation v1.0 posted on http://go.to/gamefix.
Just like the Hotdate NO CD .exe's listed, whcih work, I don't want to have to insert the CD each time.

It's no-cd also.
Yeah, that happens a lot. Nowadays the CD is just needed solely for the copy protection and not for getting data off it. So a lot of fixed exe's also act as NO-CD's.
to me, they are the same. But GHOSt explained what i think so read that!
You guys were right, NO CD required when I used the Fixed Executable exe.
The game sure does load faster!
Thanks for the insight!
