hey ana_geo_s, I've seen you post a few times that Plextor isn't the best CD-RW to use for copying, especially with the safedisk technology. Its at the top of the list of recommended burners for reading and writing for CloneCD according to this site.
####://www.elby.de/CloneCD/english/requirements.htm

This may be an outdated site and I admitadly don't know a great deal about the subject, but if you had only 1 player to read and write and wanted to back up your games...what would you use? You suggested Phillips a few times, which ones are best for this? And do they have something similar to the Burnproof technology? I'm asking because I don't want to blow a lot of dough on a new player if its gonna turn out to be a mistake...

Thanks in advance

Plextor is old school
it used to be the best burner which is why it is always listed on sites as "the best burner" or what ever other claim.
phillips and phillips based drives ie Acer have correct emf encoding which allows them to burn sd2.
Although often a cdrom/dvd reader is required to dump a cd image as phillips drives can only read in RAW mode.
I think if it comes down to it, if a acer/phillips drive cant do the job, then no burner (aleast that currently exists) can!!!!

Thanks...I'm gonna play with some settings on my current CD-RW drive (Sony CRX-140) and in CloneCD, and if this doesn't work, gonna get an ACER. I gotta get another writer drive anyway for my new system, but I wanna make sure its a good one... :0
thanks for the reply.
