what is the difference between the creative 1210e writer and the 121032 writer.
any answers would be really appreciated

Creative have a nasty habit of changing the manufacturers of their cdrw drives hence the 1210e will be the first version of the 12*10*32
then their next realese by a different manufacturer might be 1212e
and will be sold in the same box under the same 12*10*32 label.
THis make me very angry as the first release ie 1210e or 8432e for the 8*4*32 model are both plextors so the drive gets good write ups and everyone thinks its a good drive. but then they drop the price of the drive and sell panasonics and sumsungs in the place of the origional burner whch is in a way fraud!
if you want to know what creative burner you have ##### what it says when you boot your computer or goto system properties under cdrw/cdrom drive and it should be in there somewhere...
For the above mentioned reasons try to avoid buying a creative...
however if you really want one you can ##### which model the burner is by looking at the details on the "About your drive" piece of paper that comes with your drive...
