I have an Aopen 1232 burner that was bundled with Nero 5.0. I can install Nero without a problem, but when I ####t the program, it says the .exe has been modified and to scan for viruses - then it ends. I have tried updated versions as well, but they say the exe has been corrupted. I have tried unistalling it and reinstalling it several tiimes and have not had any luck and have scanned my computer with an up to date virus program, but still have not had any luck. Has anyone else seen this problem or know of a way to fix it?

Sorry mate - I'm afraid I don't have anything 100% concrete for you at the moment, this is a strange one indeed. I just have a couple of suggestions.

The fact that Nero was "bundled" with your writer may or may not have something to do with it your problems. Have you tried a system utility program like Norton Utilities? This will have a look at your Windows registry and try to fix any problems relating to programs that have been installed and then uninstalled.

If you've got the latest virus signature files, I'd almost certainly rule out that it's a virus that's doing the damage.

have you tried to install CloneCD or Adaptec Easy CD Creator? CloneCD is ideal for backing up dics, Easy CD for PC and MP3 audio stuff.

I suppose the last resort could be a complete new installation of Windows, alas hopefully you'll find a solution before you have to take this drastic step.

Good luck m8 :-)
