Clone CD 4 Beta (http://www.elby.org) has now been released to the public. Its been reported that the Plex 24 and 40X are able to copy 2.51 now along with various other drives.

The new interface is easier to use with the user not having to change many options themselves. At LAST we have an update!!!! :D :D

Hey has anybody here made a copy of a safedisk v2.51.021 protected game so that it does not need the "hide cdr media" function when playing from the burner ?????

ccd4 looks cool

No, I'm afraid that will never happen, unless for some reason they decide to take out ATIP check in future versions of SD2. And why would they?

Have you tried that new Safedisk 2.51 found in such games as MOHAA, Renegade, Serious Sam.

Did you use something like Betablocker (thus not a perfect copy).

no problems done dozens os mohaa , found serious sam 2 had to read and write in my plex burner , my liteon seemed to not read this one so well , but then it was a cloned copy i got to copy , same with mohaa . Renegade had to be read and written in my plex burner to , tested them in my dvd drive , why is the rumour 24x plex cant copy sd2 still floating around , purely a myth i think .

plex's cant copy 2.51 and play them in another drive if copied using clone cd, without any weak sector fixes. this is a given. cdfreaks, who i consider the authority, says so. a software fix on the image is the only real option, as, once again, cdfreaks, in the review of the 40x plex, states that it is a chipset reason that safedisc 2.51 cannot be copied, and it cannot be fixed with a firmware update.

of course, everyone can be wrong ;) personally, screw u guys, i love my philips

are they 1 to 1 copies ?

*doubts it*

also, using AWS ;)

it can be done without aws also , i use aws through habit with all sd2 just to be safe , but have done with and without aws and could not notice any difference , sorry to burst yer bubble , lol .

............another case of the magical writer. i wish you could tell which ones were magic before you bought them.

and i asked him if they were 1:1 copies too, i dont think he's telling the whole story

woooah ive been busy and testing a few things , like i said i had been copying these games which are cloned mohaa serious sam 2 sims on holiday and combat mission and renegade , i done them all on my plex 24x and tested them all in my liteon dvd and they all worked , but i then tried them in my plex cdrom and had problems , so i lowered read speed and burn speed and they work fine in my cdrom now , i read at 4x to image using fes and 3 retries and none for error correction , i burned to cd at 4x and using aws , the copy worked fine in my dvd drive and my cdrom , i started the game 6 times in each drive just to be sure , i done a copy at 12x and aws and it worked in my dvd but not cdrom , so i could not try 8x as my media only supports 1x 4x 12x 16x and so on . So i burned to a 10x cdrw at 10x and this worked fine in both drives so if i could get the right media i could burn at 8-10x sucessfully . This was done using clone cd v3,2,3.1 , i never used betablocker as i dont have it on my hd anyway , so i will try the other games and let you know if they are the same . If you have a 24x plex try it , if it works for me it should work for anyone else , im not doing anything special here merely reducing read and write speeds to get the right result .
Oh and im not using a cracvk , dooh , just because im a newbie it does not mean im new to cloning , if im asking a few questions its only because im unsure so feel free do help and stop doubting the plex .

I have a Plex 24X TLA# 0101 firmware 1.03 (haven't upgraded to the fresh 1.04 yet) and I have tried every possible combination of thing. Read/write spee, with and without AWS, Read retries 0, 3 etc.

The only way I've duplicated (although I shouldn't use that word as it isn't perfect) is by using Betablocker 2.51 with a low read/write.
The Plex can copy the game without modification but runs only in the burner.

There were a lot of rumours spread a few months ago when 2.51 came out, that simply lowering read/write cured it - 99% of people who tried this failed (only worked in burner).

I'm not doubting the validilty of your account - I just don't believe you. :p

Wow, a real technical discussion here.

I dont think you can copy 1:1 with a plex 24x because changing the speed should not make a difference. Technology has advanced and reading is very exact now (Meaby not at 72x or something, but 8x, 10x, 16x).
