ok I have a old Memorex CD-RW 2216 and it has been working ok until today...
I tried making a backup copy for my own use of Black & White and it started burning ok and all, but halfway through it my computer hangs and when I reboot I notice that there is _nothing_ burned on the cd, but it's still useless now since it's read-only.. blah..
I kick and scream for a while and put in a new cd and try again, the burning process (38 minutes *sigh) goes through ok, but there is STILL nothing burned on the cd..
Now I start getting scared and put in an old multi-session cd to see if I can burn anything, and it REFUSES to even read the CD... I un-install and re-install WinOnCD just in case it might have ####ed it up, and try to reinstall the drivers for my burner... ok after a I while I manage to get it to read cd's again, and after a few reboots and curses I manage to burn 9mg on my old multi-session CD =) now I'm starting to get happy again and put in another new cd to try burning B&W again, and yes you guessed it... nothing again! since I managed to burn before on a multi-session that was left open, I try to burn B&W ONe more time without closing the cd, and it's still processing now but I really don't think that it'll work either...
so my question would be, anyone know WHY this is happening? Is it just B&W (I doubt that) or should I go buy a new CD-RW? This is REALLY pissing me off if the while cd-rw is broken because I'm finally getting broadband 500k/s connection on monday instead of my sucky modem :(
anyone have ANY ideas at all on what I should try to do? I don't think that there is anything wrong with the cd-r's I try to burn on because I have used the same brand before and never had any problem, but if my cd-rw was totally broken then it wouldn't have been able to even burn those 9mb's right?
sooo, anyone ever had any similar trouble?
