I used my brand new v5 ps2 modded with an Origachip the other day standing vertically for the first time ever, however when i took it back to the other room and tried to play it lying flat i cannot get my backupz to work.
Backupz will now only work ( and thats not every time ) with the ps2 standing vertically.
Could this be a problem with the ps2 itself or is there some remote possibility that by standing the ps2 up on its side, i have maybe created a bad connection with the modchip, original games boot fine when console is in any orientation
Am trying to boot with both AR2 v2 and DVDrX and have had no problmes in the past
Help ????
there's a tiny chance that a wire came lose somehow.
does it make lots of noise when loading cdrs?
you might have to adjust the laser a little bit.

Yes! It does click about 3 times when trying to load CDr's
clicking is bad.. that shouldn't happen.
you can try adjusting the laser a bit, setting the CD laser to a value of 800 ohm, or if that fails, 650 ohm.

The PS2 needs to be looked at by someone who understands the range of potential issues. They coulod be (in no order of likelihood):
a) An origa wire has come loose or is intermittent (bad joint)
b) The flat ribbon cables are not in a state of grace after install
c) Somehow the laser has gotten shot (unlikely)
d) Somehow the laser has been mis-aligned
You would need to ask the installer how he tested the PS2 and whether or not he touched the laser.
Point (a) above might involve a VIA joint that has been over-soldered.
if you are in the Reading area, then I can recommend someone whose time would have to be paid for, of course.
Hope that helps
Sounds to me like the installer did not secure the chip to the board after the install. The chip slid and is grounding itself out. A wire may have come loose but considering it will boot backups vertically i dont think so. Usually laser clicking is associated with a bad capacitor or the chip grounding on something.
