Hi guys, I'm about to buy a new CD-RW and I searched this great forum and came up with a fact that LiteOn and Plextor are the best. Well, That won't help me as these two are rare where I live :( well, anyhow, SONY crx175 is available and I wounder if it's any good, I mean can it read RAW (my current writer is SONY crx145 and can't read RAW :( )
One last thing, in the compatibilty list in CloneCD web site there are two CRX175, one called E2 and the other is A1, the first is not compatible with EFM and the other is compatible (2 dots) and this is the same as LinteOn writers.
Please reply me soon as your reply is what gonna decide for me.

The CRX175A1 is not compatible with most burning software I found this out the hard way when I bought one at a computer show that had no bundled software. I ended up putting it in a machine that I sold as a straight cd rom. The Sony writers are junk in my opinion:rolleyes:

i have the CRX140e and it is awesome except that it cant; do version Sd2.05.30 and later. I just backed up AVP2 without a hitch. But as far as i know, the CRX175a1 can do SD2.51xx
