Ok, I read all the guides, got the ps1 w/4-wire classic mod chip installed, downloaded all the utilities and was ready to burn my first backup. I went to the patches section at megagames to check for my game and there are three different versions for the same game, now im lost- what is the difference in these patches?

PAL/NTSC Selector
NTSC-2-PAL Patch [PAL4U]
NTSC-2-PAL Patch & License Fix [Z2K]

Also if I install a stealth chip would that mean I would only need to patch EA games? and if I use GameShark with my current chip could I avoid having to patch at all?

by the way I am in the US so I have a ntsc console.

I'd have to go to the web site to figure out the differences in the patches but a lot of time it's just created by a different person.

some games you need a patch just to play, two examples I ran into were tomarrow never dies and Bio Hazard gun survivor, without the patch any copy I made would have been worthless.

I have personally never ran into and EA game that wouldn't copy so I don't understand the whole EA thing.

Really, I thought all EA games were protected. I guess my question is what is a selector? and is a license fix the same as protection fix? I understand the ntsc-to-pal patch but I can't figure out what the others are for. (if you want to look the game was Toy Story Racer)
