Im thinking of taking the plunge and buying a DVD Writer in the next few weeks, everyone seems to be burning at Single speed which seems very slow,i've stumbled across this Sony Dvd Writer that writes at x2.5(two and a half times) and its not a bad price at $499 with a $50 refund . Wadda yer think ???

Simply Computers are stocking the Sony drive but are out of stock at the moment delivery on friday they think.

The Sony is a DVD+R. All DVD+R write at 2.5x. It is fine for films and most standalone player will read it, and it is compatible with the new DVD recorders for TV. The problem is that it doesnt write DVD-R, which is what you need for PS2 games and a lot of PC drives.
DVD+R best for Movie production
DVD-R best for Games

i have the sony dvdrw+ cd rw and it dose do dvdr and cdr too that person that posted that it dosnt copy dvdr cdr is wrong
