what is the best burning program for PC games and DVD`s ??
i just got a burner a week ago and can`t back up my games why?
payed 50$ for a game and had to buy another one.
my smoke fell outta the ashtray oooppss lol didn`t notice right away.
the best burning software i have found so far is the nero burning rom version 4
I think it depends what you want to copy.
For PSX I'd recommend NERO, CDRWIN or CLONECD. For Dreamcast I'd use CLONECD or DISKJUGGLER 3.x. For PC, I dunno - I think some of the games may use protection systems..
I also think unless you use CLONECD, a PSX game will need to be "patched" in order for it to be backed up, ie you can't make backups of originals until they've been patched, so you have to get your hands on a patched version OR apply a patch to your original, then burn that copy again. Hope this helps in backing up your originals.
All the best.
It also depends on what writer you have and what kind of cd's you want to back up. Try for yourself which combination of burn program + cd-r media works best for you.
Note that most PC games are protected. You either have to make a perfect copy so that the cd check proggys "think" that you have the original cd inserted or you have to used cracked program files.
The best program to make perfect 1:1 copies of a cd is clone cd. It doesn't work with every writer though and it cannot always copy games protected with Safedisc 2. Also, it takes a pretty long time to read the original cd.
Often it is easier to use a crack. Copy the files from the original disc to your harddrive. Go to www.gamecopyworld.com and download a crack for the pc game that you want to copy. Simply follow the instructions given by the gamecopyworld and in the text files provided with the crack. (Usually you have to replace the orginal program file with the cracked one). Then you can use pretty much every program to burn the files on a cd.
The best burning program, without doubt, is Disk Juggler V.3.xx! With it I've backed up PSX cds, Dreamcast cds (self + not Selfbooting), PC cds, VCDs and general data!
It also makes a difference which writer you have, I have Backed up PSX, VCD and not selfbooting dreamcast cds sucessfully with the user friendly program WinOnCd.(Without Patches)
I've heard CloneCD is pretty good as well but I've never needed it. (I used crack's when Backing up PC CDs)
Disk Juggler V.3.xx can do anything Nero 5.xx can.
Disk Juggler V.3.xx can do anything CDRWIN can as well but CDRWIN isn't very user friendly!
GO FOR DISK JUGGLER V.3.XX !!!!

i have been looking for a site in which i could download full version pc games for free does any one know where i could find such a place?????????????????
Yeah, Mr. B pretty well summed it up as regards copying.
Is is extremely important to get as much info as you can about your writer - hopefully before you get a chance to buy it. I used to use Nero and a Philips 2x writer to copy just about anything, but Nero isn't fully comptible with my Traxdata writer - hence why like many others out there Iv'e got several cd-r programs for copying stuff. CloneCD is very good at doing 1-to-1 copies of games, including Dreamcast self-booters (albeit they load slightly slower when getting to the Sega logo screen!!). Everybody seems to rate the Plextor drives working with CloneCD. I guess it's just a case of trial and error.
Iv'e found that if your writer can't do a full RAW read, you can simply purchase a CD-ROM drive that will: copy from this drive in RAW mode onto your writer. CloneCD has some good tips and suggestions for the best writers to use.
If I see and PC game ISO's..you'll be the first to know mateys.
All the best
