Hello,
I'm about to buy me a Mitsumi CR-4805-TE writer.
Is this the best one , if i want not the fastest one , and the writer doesn't need to copy SD2 protection?
Is a HP better , and if so , why??
No , i have decided NOT to buy me a Plextor , so , don't mention Plextor please.
He doesn't need to copy SD2!
Is the Mitsumi CR-4805-TE the best 'cheap' writer?

The Mitsuimi one comes highly rated:

Yeah, it may not be the fastest, but you'll know you've bought something that can cope with anything you chuck at it. Someone told me there's an 8x speed model out, but this may be a rumour.

Also, the help file tha comes with CloneCD will give you a few pointers as regards the best of the bucn and exactly what's required of your writer.

Lots of folks swear by the Plextor, but they're expensive if you're on a budget and don't need the latest and greatest speed - just the facility to backup stuff!

My writer won't read in RAW mode. However I have an old 24x Toshiba CD-ROM that will, hence I got an 8x writer for 100 quid (Traxdata), and use the CD-ROM to backup protected games.

All the best.
