View Full Version : system hung at scsi id 0 scan..please help me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

i am trying to set up a new scsi card with a cd-rom and cd-r connected to it. the system boots up and at displays the boards bios (press f2/f6 for configuration.
in configuration window the board is listed and i press enter to continue, then the only thing happening is a slight noise from the cd-rom,ive tried leaving it for up to an hour.
im using a tekram dc390f scsi card, pioneer 36x reader, plextor 8/20 cdr
please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe that with the Tekram you must have your devices numbered consecutively.
In that case you MUST have the controller card set at scsi id 7 (the default), set your other devices at 0 and 1.
Make sure that the last device on the scsi chain is terminated and that the controller card is also terminated.
What happens is that if no device 0 is found the card normally stops scanning but in your case you either have them both at the same id or it is not terminated correctly.

thanx to all, i got it workin now .
i tried movin the card to another slot and tried changin the scsi id of all three devices
something must have worked!
