View Full Version : Acer CRW2010A IDE CDR-W
ok, I bought the Acer CRW2010A IDE CDR-W, now I assumed since is was one of the CDRW's tested on CloneCD's site that it would be a good one to get. The test is here:

The thing is, does anyone know if it can read subchannel data? I just tried reading The Sims to an image file but CloneCD just sits on 0%. The Sims is protected by safedisc.
I also have the Acer 2010A and YES its the best burner i ever have. (Its my fifth).
The 2010A can't read Subchannel Data. Not from Datatracks and not from Audiotracks.
But the Acer 2010A can make 1:1 copys of SafeDisc V2 protected games !!!
For "The Sims" you don't need reading Subchannel Data.
I don't know why CloneCD stays at 0% with this game at you.
Try reading the disc in a DVD-Drive with Fast Error Skip" and "Intelligent Search for Bad-Sectors". Safedisc protected Discs has up to 12000 bad sectors at beginning of the disc.
If you can't wait till its readed, try using UnSafeDisc 1.55 to make a fixed Exe. The Sims (Original Game, not the Expansions) is protected with the old Safedisc V1.
Hope, it will help...
Just tick fast error skip, that all i did and it worked like a charm.
itis only SD1
