Music CD's on DVD problems

Got a new Sony DAV S300 DVD player - plays proper music cd's but won't recognise downloded music off of napster etc which are recorded onto cdr's (kodak, infiniti etc) Writer is a scci Yamaha, discs work perfect on home hifi and car etc but wont on dvd please help.
Dvd is not multi-regional.

How about DVD peakup head is two wavelength or just noly for DVD system.Because CD-R peackup wavelength is 780nm and DVD is 650nm.

Sony has a put burn-protect feature on Sony DVD players 300+ (im not sure about older models..if there is any) This feature DOES NOT allow burnt media to be played on the player (i.e Audio CD-R, Audio CD-RW, Home-made VCD and home-made DVD. If you want to play this kinda stuff, go get a panasonic.

Wrong, I got a new Panasonic that don't do that. Wonder how they do the protection? My guess is the reading circuitry, maybe fuzzy logic to process the signal strength or wavelength from the laser?

Try different cdr's once it will work, i have the same dvd and i use "thats right" cdr's and they do play normal..

audio protection - they must put like a digital encryption in the first little bit on the pressed cd that rw drives cant copy.. and specialised dvd/cd drives can read - i guess that must be it...
