MGS2 HK Silvers

Do all games have this "SLxx" code? I have a jap MGS2 hk silver it has something like "SLES" but also have an US version of the same game but does not have this code. I can boot the jap version but not the US version. Is it cos it doesn't have the SLxx code?? Thanks

No. This explanation may not be the whole story.

SLPS = JAP
SLUS = US
SLES = EUROPE/PAL (possibly all PAL regions too)

You don't mention what your PS2 is. Is it JAP? And/or is there a modchip in it and what type if so?

Thanks for the reply Charlie. My PS2 is PAL SCPH 300003. V3 board. Using Neo 2.2 with the 8 wire install and AR2 v1.9.
It goes off the AR2 screen, and just goes to a black screen. The disc is still spinning. Maybe my laser needs cleaning? I have no probs reading other games though.

Ps. Use to be able to play GT3 concept too, but that goes to black screen too, think it really might be the laser.
