I got a PS2 SCPH-3001R with a Sbox mod installed. I got Gameshark 2 V2.0x??? not sure
which one I know it's 2 or higher. I am having problems getting it to boot the Gameshark boot disk every time. It's seems pretty hit and miss to me. Once I get the game shark cd booted I don't seem to have any problems. Here is my most successful way of booting GameShark CD.

- Insert GS2 Boot disk
- Make sure GS2 Card is in memory slot.
- Power off PS2
- Switch off Sbox
- Wait like 30 second. Power on PS2
- Hold in Reset till Playstation 2 appears

If I get to where it displays Playstation two on the all black screen I can normally get games to boot fine, but sometimes it seems it just doesn't recognize the disk and goes to the Instert Formatted Playstation 2 disk.

Anyone got any ideas on a more consistent way. I've tried several other methods.
Like Hold reset in 3-4 seconds with the GS2 disk in.

Holding reset has absolutely no effect when using a usb mod. Could be you have a bad gameshark2.

I'm having the same issues. I have a V2 US PS2, a SBOX, and a Gameshark 2 V2. I also have no problems booting games once i can get the gameshark to boot, but booting the gameshark is also hit an miss for me. The method that works best for me to boot the gameshark is to, remove any disc and power off from the back. Then with Sbox turned off power on from the back. Then hit eject and insert the gameshark and hit eject again to have it take in the disk. It will usualluy boot. It will never boot if the gameshark is already in the ps2 when i power up, or if i put it in at the browser menu and hit reset as the instructions i got with the Sbox say to do. This seems strange to me as all of my PS2 original disks boot that way, I assumed the gameshark would boot the same as a ps2 original. Anyways good luck getting the gameshark to boot routinely, if you find a method that works perfectly everytime please post it.
