View Full Version : ps one only plays copies
can someone help, i have chiped my ps one but it will only play copied games, it will not play originals.
Sounds like the chip has been installed incorrectly or the wrong diagram was used.
Check and recheck the connections and if your not sure then download another diagram and compare it to the one you used.
Its also possible that the chip has been programmed with the wrong hex file, did you program the chip yourself?

First of all what chip are you using how many wires ,
also make sure the game is not one that is mod
chip protected , obveusly if it wont load all orig
games thats not the prob , check the way the
original game loads before chipping ,i have found that replaced units fron s**y are very slow to load originals ,how i tell is lift lid before chipping insert original activate door switch with something like small screwdriver . makesure room
is quiet press start and listen a few seconds after
pressing start you here lazer move twice and then shortly after the game boots . what i have found is if it takes 4+ seconds about to here this noise there is always a problem loading originals when chipped if you here the noise before there will be no problems when chipped . now what i do
is if it takes a long time to first two noises i slightly
tweak lazer to quicken this loading then it usually
chips ok .
i use a chip to chip programmer which has worked fine for on 12 months i make a copy of my original chip to change now and then .
hope this helps
