Jeez! I can't seem to take apart the ps2 to do the damn modification. I need some instruction on exactly how to get to the board. I've been trying for a while and I still couldn't do it. Soldering skills and tech stuff I know but this part's got me stumped. I've been trying for a day already and I can't seem to get to the board.
I have a SCPH-30000/NTSC. Any advice will be greatly appreciated! As soon as I get the stuff off, the faster I can install the chip!!! Thanks in advance!
flip the ps2 over and only remove the screws at the cover that the ps2 actually stands on. you don't need to remove the screws on the wider part. then just pull it straight off. you have to open the ps2's bottom, not the top (like with most other systems). the screws are hidden under plastic and rubber caps that can be lifted with a flat screwdriver.

just like arakon said, just flip ur PS2 and remove the screws hidden in the plastic caps/cover...
try to slowly lift up the cover... (usually its tight if its the first time to be opened... he!he!he!)
hope these helps...
Happy Playin!
lift the back first and pull it off straight up and slightly towards the front, since the USB ports are sticking into the holes a bit.

There is a warranty seal sticker on the back of the unit that you'll have to peel off to get it open.
Here is a helpful download to get all the versions apart!!!!
Download this and it has diagrams to get your system apart!!!!!!!!!!
