Good news , I have managed to boot DVDR's with a Neo2.5 DVD mod chip. You need to use AV2 ver 1.9 It requires a double swap.
(ver 2 won't work)
put in your AV2 and switch off, wait 5 seconds, switch on and press and hold the reset button until you got a green flashing light & blue flashing light then let go of the reset button the AV disc will load. After about 20 seconds the tray will eject swap the AR disc with an original DVD game something like Grand Theft Auto. the tray will close after 5 seconds, Wait 15 seconds then press start ,select without codes the tray will come out again so swap the disc with your backup, when the tray closes press the x button and the game loads. Once you got the hang of this it's not that hard, I picked GTA because it had a large TOC , you nee to pick a game that has a larger TOC than the game you want to boot.
This does work I'm well happy now.
