Just bought a chipped PAL PS2 (30004) bundled with AR2 v1.92, I need to perform single swap trick in order to play backup CD. I am wondering what modchip is installed in my console, is there any way to distinguish them?
TIA!!!

Hohoho...an original DVD cost about USD50.00, what do u expect?
dust2dust, besides NEO 2.5 & Origa, any other chips that support single swap trick? I think I might want to open it out to see what is inside...
Please give us the following details:
1 The name of each CD game title
2 The name of each DVD title (are they DVDRs? - important)
We can then suggest booting methods appropriate to the game to narrow down the likely chip. If you open it up, see if the chip has 8 wires. It won't provide any other clues, I reckon.

Thanks for offering help, Charlie. Is DVDR that u meant is media burnt by DVD Writer? I don't think they are produced with the writer, they clone/print with the copy machine (I assume the original DVD also make in this way), same goes to those CDs.

I'll respond in about 5 hour time. I'll choose a game, describe a boot method and ask you to let us know the outcome. For DVDR you will need an original PAL DVD game with large Table of Contents (like Devil May Cry or Dead on Arrival 2). The aim is to establish whether or not you ahve a NEO2.2.
You might care to look inside and see how many wires there are to the chip.
