New to PS2! Need Help.

I have a Problem. Ive assigned the german "Superchip" to the ps2. The Producer told me it would work same then the Neo2. With Help of the ActionReplay2 you could play Backups.
But it dont work. It loads the Gameshark and when I choose "Without Code" it hangs and scratches on the disc!!! Need Help!

u say it scratches the disc? did u chip the ps2 yourself? Remember the ps2 does not correct the cd by pushing it back into the tray like most cd-roms do, so if when the ps2 was chipped, the casing, cd-tray or something else got re-aligned in the machine it will probably be whats causing the problem.

I could be going off at a tangent here, but scratched discs seems to be a common issue with the ps2.

Also remember, discs will get scratched is the ps2 is at an angle (ie not layed flat or standing up) and also if u move the ps2 to a different position while it is turned on.
