Help me Compare Available PS2 Mod Chips and thier + and - modchip.com, neo2, etc

??? I am considering a modchip for my NSTC US PS2. The NEO2 seems to be a little cheaper, while modchip.com claims to have a "Better" modchip that eliminates drive noise. However, I am also aware that so many people have been screwed by modchip.com by thier premature release of the chip to US PS2 users without any instruction. I know that most people us the GameShark2 ( Are there any version requirements?) but have also heard of some people using the Unreal Tournament CD. (Is this true... can the UT disc be used just as easy as the GS2... I already have the UT disc) Also I understand that these modchips should allow one to use PS1 backups without too much hassle... Is it true that there will be modchips available for the ps2 in the near future that will work without the swap trick? As for copying the games, does CD Clone make a good copy straight across? or are patches needed? (Cd Clone was the only program I could use to make PS1 backups) Also, I am assuming that the DVD-ROM games are so far uncopyable... Or am I mistaken?

if i where you i would go for neo2
as for their claim on noise reduction....its done through a capacitor which neo supply
you wont need unreal tournament..its all done through game shark
yes psx1 disks you just stick em in and they play without using g/shark
havent heard anything about a chip you use without swap disk...would be nice though...but i think a long way off yet
clone cd does the stuff for me 4 speed write though to be safe
certain people have cracked the dvd games you just need a good contact to get them unless you have a dvd writer ..

Listen to Topcat!! I am one of the people modchip.com screwed so i would not advise you to deal with them. Playstationmods.com is a proven winner and your best bet.Alot of sites claim to have neo2 chips but do not!! Playstationmods.com IS neo technology, they invented the neo chip so if you buy from anyone else you are buying a chip from a second hand dealer,not that they wont work,but its best to buy direct from playstationmods.com. I get my mod chip from modchip.com, they send the bundle kit (Modchip + Game Shark2 (Psx + PS2) CD's with Game shark memory slot + 8 colored Wires @ cost of $94 (excluding shipment). They include 3 diagrams for PS2 board type 1,2,3 (mine was 3) the installation takes around 45 minutes. They include 3 methods to be able to boot the backup games. The chip boots very smoothly with no noise. The only drawback, it needs games shark CD (swap trick) at each backup PS2 games. All games are booting and I am enjoying playing 50 backup games with no problems. But if playstationmods.com. will give better solution than swap trick, go for it. Topcat is the right person to ask. The above was my experience with Modchip.com.
