I have made backups for my PSX. Now that I have a PS2, do I need a program to compress the data on the original for it to fit? If so is there a program for it?I have a modchip on its way.But no way to create backups.

You have a modchip on its way!
Hope you have the ORIGINAL Jap model then because there are NO working modchips for any other model yet.
