Booting dvd-r backup with dvd region x?

Is it possible? If it is, is it just as easy as playing cd-r backups? I guess I could download AR if that's only method..

With Messiah Chip, DVD-R boot directly.

With modchip.com original chip for JAP PS2 (10000/15000) you boot with a larger TOC original DVD game and swap when the tray ejects for the DVD-R.
