is there any swap method without having to open the lid of my ps2 so i can keep the guarantie?i would also like to know what's going on with the mod chips(external, internal)is there any way that if you put an external or internal mod in your ps2 there may be released games that will not be able to have a copy that works in a chipped ps2?so if i put a mod in my ps2 will i have also to download the patch for each game i want to copy or i will be able to copy the game direct from the original cd without the need of any patch or other stuff that i should download from the internet.is it safe to buy a modchip from the internet(i don't want someone to keep taking money from my account!!!)will the procedure of "installing" the mod down the ps2 be difficult?i would like to get a reply for all this stuff cause i just bought my new ps2 and i wouldn't like to pay for the original cd's...
if someone can answer please do it.

ANSWER: In my opinion, NO. The likes of the Card swap method, the knife/cog method will void the warranty when you knacker the DVD drive.
i would also like to know what's going on with the mod chips(external, internal)is there any way that if you put an external or internal mod in your ps2 there may be released games that will not be able to have a copy that works in a chipped ps2?
ANSWER: That's a risk that all of us with modchips have taken. Some games detect the presence of a modchip and stop working; for such games, there are people who devvelop and post patches to get roud this.
so if i put a mod in my ps2 will i have also to download the patch for each game i want to copy or i will be able to copy the game direct from the original cd without the need of any patch or other stuff that i should download from the internet?
ANSWER: For games other than those I've mentioned just above, you would use CloneCD with a fully compatible burner to make 1:1 copies of the readable area. Such games require no patches unless your TV is incompatible with the game (this may apply to US TVs that do not have a Scart socket when trying to play PAL games).
is it safe to buy a modchip from the internet(i don't want someone to keep taking money from my account!!!)
ANSWER: Many of us have done this. I'm happy to do this. But you always do so at your own risk.
will the procedure of "installing" the mod down the ps2 be difficult?
ANSWER: 8 wire mods are reasonably striaghtforward if you can solder. Otherwise get it done professionally by an electronics engineer.
i would like to get a reply for all this stuff cause i just bought my new ps2 and i wouldn't like to pay for the original cd's...
ANSWER: Of course I am referring to backups of original CDs.
