AND I REALIZE THERE ARE FILE FORMATS SUCH AS .AVI .ASF.WMF ETC... I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHAT IT MEANS BY WINDOWS MEDIA FORMAT MPEG LEVEL 1. THESE ARE THE README FILES EXACT WORDS...

* You can only play MPEG-1 videos. Codecs such as DivX, MPEG-4, and so on do NOT work. I repeat: MPEG-1 ENCODED VIDEOS ONLY! |

It means that VCD discs are strictly MPEG-1 format. Not only that, but there are strict specifications on the resolution, framerate and bits per second that cannot be changed, unless you want a disc that can only be viewed on your computer (no DVD or VCD machine will read a disc whose video files aren't in the right format).

Sorry, but I don't know off-hand what those resolutions, framerates and BPS are right now - since I'm at work and not near my home PC for reference.

Yup. The new Nero makes VCDs... Also, the newest version of Easy CD Creator has a really nice VCD making setup. Nice menus.. GUI and the whole nine.

I assume you guys know I'm talking about the DC VCD player. If you didn't know, its all right because I realize i forgot to mention anything about DC. If any of you are familiar with this i would be very thankful for any info you have on how to make video files in a mpeg layer 1 format so that they are able to be picked up by the DC VCD player.

thanks
