Has anybody had success in backing up a PAL version Crash Bandicoot? Im using CDrWin with a Iomega 650 Burner and have had no problems burning other games. I can copy the bin and cue file to my hard drive, but then when i copy the game there is a writing error.
Is there a patch required for this game? Thanks for your help
I don't know the specifics of Crash Bandicoot but as regards CDRWin, a write error will have nothing to do with a patch. It will in all probability be a buffer under-run. I had this problem recently and said to myself that why just this game? I burned more slowly and the problem went away. I defragmented my HDD and I could burn faster. You didn't specify the CDRWin write error message - so I'll stick with buffer under-run in the absence of confirmatory evidence.
burned with clone cd at 12x write speed with no problems :)

is your cdrwin paid for or is it a cracked version

bckloon, yes I've managed that too. It's a crapshoot to some extent, depends on any background daemons that Windows decides to kick in and the state of disk fragmentation.
BurnProof gets round this, of course, and you know it's happening when burns take longer.
Got to agree , hard drive maintenance is a must if burning on a regular scale and burnproof is god send for "untidy sods" like me :)
Hi,
Where did the .BIN and .CUE file come from???
I have made backups of this game with no problems, i usually use CLONE CD but i have made a bckup of this using CDR-WIN
The game is on DVD so i assume you have a DVD RIP of Crash???
Cheers

@ dal , rental version is cdrom , could be that .
tried cdrwin just to be curious , burned ok
So it was likely buffer under-run if you got it to work??

Thanks for all your replies. I defragged my hard drive and tried burning again. Was able to make a backup using CDrWin. Thanks again.
